The Difference Between College and Real Life “Dating”

I miss college. Don’t you? I was recently thinking about how different it was back then…how there was no dating BS, nothing was that serious and all you wanted to do was party, get drunk, hook up and sleep (and maybe go to the gym every now and then). Those were the good old days. Oh well…here’s a list I came up with comparing the differences between “dating” in college and dating in real life:

Real Life: I want to introduce you to my parents
College: I want to introduce you to my pledgemaster

Real Life: Sorry, I can’t stay late…I have to wake up early for an 8am meeting (have to go)
College: Sorry, I can’t stay late…I have to wake up early for an 8am class (no chance of going)

Real Life: Can I get your phone number? I’ll give you a call
College: I’ll write on your Facebook wall

Real Life: Of course I paid for her on our date
College: Are you kidding me? I made her split it

Real Life: We’ve been dating for two months
College: We’ve been hooking up for two months

Real Life: We’re trying the long distance thing…he lives in Brooklyn
College: We’re trying the long distance thing…he goes to Stanford

Real Life: Her friends are nice, they’re all ok looking
College: I kinda want to hook up with her hot roommate and this other girl she’s friends with

Real Life: We met through a friend
College: We were so drunk the night we met that we don’t really remember what happened

Real Life: We just stayed in and watched a movie. Friday nights are tough…we’re just so tired from the week
College: We went to two frat parties then the bar, then got late-night diner food and went back to my place

Real Life: It’s getting pretty serious…we’re talking about moving in together
College: It’s getting pretty serious…he asked me to his date party
